After a lot of speculation over who would sign the Brazilian, it’s Milan, thanks to Leonardo, who will be in charge of turning Lucas Paqueta into a world beater in Europe.

Costing them €35m or so, the Flamengo midfielder is expected to join the Serie A side in January, where another player could, if they get their wish, join him in the summer.

That man is Cesc Fabregas, in whom Milan have had a strong interest for a while now, but his desire to stay around London has been a hurdle the Italians have yet to overcome.

With a contract running out in the summer, now would be the best time for them to try again, and they are still looking at him, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, his recent declarations about Maurizio Sarri and how he’d wish he’d met his new manager sooner suggest a stay at Chelsea is what he’d want, which is commendable since he’s yet to feature in the Premier League this season.

It seems all will depend on what those in charge at Stamford Bridge feel is the right thing to do with Fabregas, but at 31 and hardly used, we’d be surprised if a new contract made an appearance.
