Ever so close to signing for Stoke City after a successful loan spell under Mark Hughes last season, Bruno Martins Indi might have to take a bit more time before definitively choosing his next club.

The reason behind this is because a new suitor has appeared in the shape of Fiorentina, with the Serie A club looking to bolster their defence before the start of the new season.

Gazzetta dello Sport report the interest on Thursday, explaining the Dutch defender could leave Porto this summer (which we already know), but warning of Stoke City’s desire to sign him permanently this time around.

The lack of alternatives in the list suggests it’s Martins Indi or nothing for the Italian outfit for now, although if the stories from England are correct, they might not have any targets soon if Stoke get their way.

A word of caution to Potters’ fans, however.

Fiorentina have already swooped in and pipped one player from under a club’s nose this summer (Jordan Veretout), and they could very well do it again if Mark Hughes and co. aren’t careful.
