According to TMW, Sampordia could make a last minute attempt to sign Leicester City forward Islam Slimani.
The Algeria international joined Leicester City from Sporting Lisbon last summer, but has yet to start a league game this season.
Reporting from the Melia Hotel, where agents are now gathered to get last minute deals over the line, TMW say Sampdoria are pressing for the Leicester City player. The Serie A side are looking to bring in a forward before the deadline, and Slimani is an option.
This summer Luis Muriel left Sampdoria for Sevilla, and the Italian side are hoping to bolster their attacking options with the signing of Slimani. There are no details to whether Sampdoria want to loan Slimani or purchase him outright.
Despite his lack of games since his arrival at Leicester City, Slimani has still been prolific during his time in England. The 29 year old scored seven goals in sixteen games last season for the Foxes, which wasn’t a bad return for his first 12 months in the Premier League.
Wednesday’s edition of L’Equipe reported Marseille had given up their Slimani efforts, after Leicester asked for €25m. Given that, Sampdoria’s chances seem pretty slim.
