Over the past few months, whenever there’s been a story about Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian, it’s always involved Juventus.

The Italy international looks nailed on for a summer transfer away from Old Trafford, and a return to Italy appears like the most likely scenario, but Juventus aren’t the only team after him.

If you’ve followed our coverage of the situation from the start, you’ll know AS Roma and Inter have both been linked, quite strongly, with Darmian too, as well as Napoli.

In fact, according to Il Mattino, the latter on that list are still very interested in his services, with their director of football, Cristiano Giuntoli, ‘appreciates’ the former Torino star.

However, they also know that Juventus appear to be the favourites for the Manchester United player’s signature, which confirms all of the stories other outlets have been writing over the past few months.

This confirms a story from RAI Sport a few weeks ago that Giuntoli could be ready to ‘hijack’ Juventus’ target before the summer.

Despite being fit all season, Darmian has only made 12 appearances for the Red Devils under José Mourinho, spread over five different competitions.
