Late last week, we covered an article from Spain claiming that Sevilla were interested in signing Julian Alvarez on loan.
This came after Pep Guardiola made it clear he was keen to work with the Argentine in pre-season, meaning Manchester City would have to pay a fee to River Plate to bring him back early.
However, with all the rumours that Erling Haaland will be arriving in the summer, the idea of Alvarez staying to sit on the bench isn’t one the youngster is likely to be thrilled with.
That’s why Monchi reportedly saw an opportunity and Fichajes in Spain claimed the director of football had already asked Manchester City about a possible loan next season.
This idea appears to be backed up by La Razon, who also report that Sevilla ‘will ask’ Guardiola’s side about bringing in Alvarez temporarily.
It’s believed that Manchester City ‘could welcome’ the idea of their new starlet heading out somewhere to get more experience and minutes.
Then again, if Gabriel Jesus does end up at Arsenal, then perhaps Alvarez would be the ready made replacement.
