Real Madrid chief scout Juni Calafat is set to travel to England next week to take in Newcastle United vs Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League.
That’s according to Defensa Central, who say that while Calafat will be watching Kylian Mbappe, he also intends to get a closer look at Newcastle stars Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak.
The website explains that Real Madrid continue to keep an eye on Mbappe and monitor his matches, with the Frenchman a long-term target and potentially available on a free next summer.
He’s planning to attend the game at St James’ Park to watch over Mbappe, but he is not the only player on his watchlist.
Indeed, he is just one of three players in the game that he has an interest in, and he will also take the opportunity to rule his eye over Newcastle duo Guimaraes and Isak.
They are ‘on the club’s agenda’ and they want to monitor them live ‘in a big match’ to see how they get on.
The duo are just one of several different options that the Spanish giants are eyeing up as they continue to plan for the future.
A trip to see them alongside Mbappe makes perfect sense for Calafat, then, and he ‘will not lose sight of a single minute of the game’ as a result.
