Chelsea have already confirmed they’ve parted ways with Antonio Conte, who helped them win the league and the FA Cup in the last two seasons.
The former Juventus coach moved to Stamford Bridge in 2016 and was shown the exit door on Friday, despite still have a year left on his contract. Earlier today, we carried a report from Calciomercato.it, who mentioned reasons why the Blues sacked their manager.
Conte’s compatriot, Maurizio Sarri is expected to replace him at the west London club. Another report from Italian publication Calciomercato.it now claims the 59-year-old’s move to Chelsea is gathering pace.
Sarri was expected to take a private flight from Linate Airport, Milan’s third international airport, to London. Calciomercato.it claims the Italian coach has already left his homeland and is set to arrive at the English capital later today.
The report also mentions there is ‘very little left’ for Sarri to be officially confirmed as Conte’s successor at the Premier League outfit.
