Each season Sevilla improve their standing as a football club, and then each summer the club appear to plead poverty in the transfer market.
Trying to get players on low cost loans, with clauses they never have any intention of paying, and talking down realistic valuations, Sevilla clearly believe they’re entitled to good deals and it’s for other clubs to fall into place.
Sevilla is obviously an attractive destination, and the last thing Aston Villa want is Amavi falling head over heels for the idea, and then Sevilla trying to force the price down.
However, L’Equipe say PSG are interested. Hurrah.
PSG’s Antero Henrique met with Amavi’s entourage ten days ago, and whilst the Aston Villa player is a plan B, he’s a pretty important one.
A fee of around €10m is mentioned, which L’Equipe don’t seem to find unreasonable, and it’s also pointed out that Sevilla have already offered the player a four year contract.
PSG interest could flush out others, and it’s all a positive to help Aston Villa either force Sevilla to be reasonable or to sell Amavi elsewhere for a good fee.
