Earlier this month we brought you news from Spain that Manchester United had reportedly agreed to terms with Wissam Ben Yedder.
This came from La Colina de Nervion, who stated that United ‘have everything agreed’ and the forward’s destination ‘with almost total security’ will be England. They named Manchester United as an interested party, as well as Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain.
Estadio Deportivo have updated the story today, and the interest in the Frenchman appears to be hotting up.
They again report that Ben Yedder is being linked to United, Barca and PSG, although they cite The Express as the original source of that information. That’s not entirely true as it first appeared in La Colina de Nervion.
Anyway, Estadio say the interest in Ben Yedder has now become concrete and one of his suitors has ‘moved a proposal’ to Sevilla, and the Spanish club are ‘studying’ it.
They don’t say what the bid is but explain that the striker has a €40m release clause and Sevilla do not intend ‘to make a significant reduction on that price’.
They won’t, however, force the fee to be paid at the La Liga offices, as we recently saw Rodri do to secure his move to Manchester City. Estadio are adamant that scenario ‘will not happen’.
Ben Yedder is currently on holiday, but the outlet believes if talks between Sevilla and interested parties go well, this move could be done sooner rather than later. Whether his next destination is Old Trafford, however, remains to be seen.
