It seems to be Brighton’s day over at Sport Witness, with our third article of the day covering the Seagulls.
First was Karl Toko-Ekambi hinting to L’Equipe over the weekend that he was the one who decided to refuse a move to Chris Hughton’s side in January because he wanted to finish the current mission with Angers (staying up).
Then, we got Foot Mercato in France claiming Brighton & Hove Albion saw off competition from the likes of Tottenham and Real Madrid to sign Nantes’ 18-year-old starlet Batista Mendy.
Now, we have more Toko-Ekambi news, which, if true, confirms our gut feeling that the Seagulls will be returning for the Cameroon international in the summer.
Le10 Sport are the ones running with it, stating the Premier League side are preparing a new offer for June, while also evaluating a number of other players in Ligue 1.
It’s going to be a busy summer for Brighton if they manage to stay up, as doing so once is one thing, but consolidating that spot in the Premier League is never easy, and getting the right recruits in will be paramount to achieving that goal.
