Earlier in August, Inter Milan signed Keita Balde on loan from AS Monaco and as a part of the deal, the Nerazzurri have an option to buy the forward at the end of the season.

Before he made a switch to the San Siro, Roberto Calenda, the Senegalese international’s agent revealed that two clubs – Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur – tried to sign the 23-year-old.

“In reality, in the past, at Lazio, they made war by painting it different from what it actually was,” the player’s agent told La Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by Alfredo Pedulla.

“There were other teams, last January Napoli had moved, then we received a call from Tottenham.”

It’s not mentioned why the deal for Balde didn’t take shape, either with the Naples club or Tottenham.

After failing to score a goal by mid November, the 23-year-old has found the back of the net on four occasions in the league for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

If they want to make another signing attempt, Calenda claims it could be difficult because of his client’s desire to continue at Inter.

“He will not be another [Joao] Cancelo because Inter will find a way to redeem him. There is time between now and May,” the agent explained.

“The figure? We need 34 million euros, but it is a figure that falls within the parameters of this type of player. If he does what he has to do, do not doubt his stay in Milan.”
