Mamadi Camará’s contract at Reading lasts until the end of this season and he can therefore leave the club as a free agent next summer.
The attacking midfielder is unlikely to do that if a report from Africa Foot is to be believed.
Reading initially signed the 20-year-old for their youth team in 2021 and promoted him to their senior squad a year later.
The Guinea-Bissau international has made 36 appearances in all competitions for Reading so far and 13 are from this season.
It’s claimed Camará has been impressing with his displays this season and has taken an important step forward to be a key player at the Madejski Stadium. Therefore, Noel Hunt’s side have made a decision to bet on his future and reward the youngster with a new deal.
Sources close to the player have told Africa Foot that the League One side will offer him a two-year deal and he should sign the new contract ‘soon’.
In this way, Reading can tie Camará down to a new deal and in the process avoid the prospect of seeing him leave as a free agent at the end of this season.
