Following Reading’s offer to sign manager José Gomes, Portuguese side Rio Ave are reportedly set to take a decision about it in ‘the next few hours’.
It’s newspaper O Jogo who reports it today, claiming that this time, the subject wasn’t even mentioned during Tuesday’s press conference.
The outlet says that the decision is now in Rio Ave’s hands, as the Royals have offered a fee of €1m to take the manager to the Championship.
However, it’s claimed that the most likely scenario is that José Gomes stays at Rio Ave. The manager is said to be too involved with the project, and wouldn’t leave the club until the end of the season.
Reading already got a ‘no’ from Vitória Guimarães manager Luís Castro. The reasons he rejected the offers were pretty similar, claiming that if he continues to have such a good season, he could even get a bigger offer in the summer.
