Eintracht Frankfurt have been handed a boost ahead of their Europa League final clash with Rangers after Jesper Lindstrøm was declared fit for the game.
That’s according to BILD, who say the German side can ‘once again rely’ on the 22-year-old for the European final.
The newspaper explains that the winger has been nursing a thigh injury picked up in the first-leg win over West Ham in the semi-finals.
He’s been missing since then, and concerns were growing that he would miss the final against Rangers, a major blow given Lindstrøm has five goals and nine assists for the German side this season, including four assists in the Europa League alone.
However, he was given the green light to feature against Rangers on Monday, taking part in Eintracht’s final training session in Frankfurt on Tuesday and playing as part of the first XI.
His availability is a big boost for manager Oliver Glasner, who is quoted explaining how Lindstrøm can help them against Giovani van Bronckhorst’s side.
“Jesper has a very good sense of depth, which will be very important against Rangers. They defend incredibly well at the man, so we have to get them running and attack gaps,” he said.
“He has to be better than the alternative. If I feel he is better in his condition, he will play. If not, the other guy will play.”
