Most of Palmeiras’ squad may be taking a well-deserved rest after winning the Brazilian league, but Gustavo Scarpa continues to be pretty busy.

Besides his farewell to the club and the many interviews he’s been giving about the upcoming move to Nottingham Forest, he’s now been present on several TV shows who named him the best player of the season.

The latest one was Gazeta’s Troféu Mesa Redonda. There he spoke about the great year he had at Palmeiras, and it was inevitable to talk about his switch to the Premier League.

Gustavo Scarpa is well known for his hobbies, especially skateboarding, and claimed that he’s already looking for local parks for once he moves to Nottingham Forest.

“An indoor park? I already found one in Nottingham. Now, outdoor park, on the street, it will be a little difficult because of the weather, it rains practically every day. But, we adapt, we dig. I’m a guy who looks too much for the things I like to do, that I want to do. But there’s still a Rubik’s cube, drums, a lot of things I can do to occupy myself there,” Gustavo Scarpa told Gazeta.

The player also spoke about his final days in Brazil, and highlighted how his hobbies have helped him in reaching his peak at Palmeiras this year.

“I’m trying to make the most of my friends, my wife, but mainly my hobbies, skateboarding, wakeboarding. I’m going to try to make the most of it to relieve myself after a year of hard work.

“Not only skateboarding, but the habit of reading also strengthened my mind a lot, helped me to get out of the football bubble I was in. They were essential for me to reinvent myself at Palmeiras and get back on top at the club.”

Scarpa’s contract with Palmeiras is expiring in December, so he’s joining Nottingham Forest in January as a free agent. This week, we had a piece explaining what he’s bringing to the City Ground.
