Thiago’s ongoing injury issues at Liverpool are ‘pushing him towards the exit’ as he continues to slide down the pecking order at the club.
That’s according to AS, who say the midfielder is looking likely to leave Anfield sooner rather than later after turning a ‘deaf ear’ to offers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey this summer.
The newspaper explains that Friday saw more bad news for the midfielder, who has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hip flexor problem.
They say that the Spanish midfielder is currently suffering injury issue after injury issue ‘as if it were a curse’, with various problems hampering him at Liverpool over the last few years.
He was beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel but a new relapse in the final stage of his recovery means he is again out of the picture.
The ‘scourge of injuries’ he’s been suffering have relegated the 32-year-old to a ‘totally secondary role’ at Liverpool and that’s even worse after a summer in which the Reds spent heavily rebuilding their midfield.
His physical problems are now ‘pushing him towards the exit door’ and he already had the chance to depart in the summer with offers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
He turned a ‘deaf ear’ to that at the time, but AS believe the reality is that his injuries, plus the new arrivals at Anfield, mean his future lies away from Merseyside.
