Edinson Cavani has left a big gap at PSG.
The French champions may have thought they’d filled that before the Uruguayan left by signing Mauro Icardi, but the gap still remains, and despite Eric Choupo-Moting being the club’s Champions League hero this week, the club are looking at other options.
One of the options PSG are considering is Odion Ighalo, who is on an extended loan at Manchester United from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.
FootMercato report Ighalo ticks all the boxes PSG are looking to fill. His experience and good goalscoring record is appreciated, as is that his contract with the Chinese club is set to expire in December 2021.
PSG wouldn’t wait that long, but there’s a belief Ighalo could be a value signing given his contract situation. The interest is said to be ‘very real’ and ‘first contacts’ have already taken place between the French club and the striker’s representatives.
There’s no indication whether PSG are interested for now, and if that was the case they’d have to come to an agreement with Manchester United as well as Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, given the loan contract runs until January 30th 2021.
