Sevilla are growing increasingly concerned about Gonzalo Montiel’s loan spell at Nottingham Forest, were ‘problems are brewing’ with the player.
That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who say the Spanish side are concerned that a purchase obligation worth €11m won’t be met.
We covered a report earlier this month about the feelings at Sevilla over Montiel, who is struggling to establish himself while on loan at Nottingham Forest.
Vamos Mi Sevilla continue that today, saying that while the objectives set out in the agreement are ‘easy to achieve’ the player’s lack of minutes for Nottingham Forest puts a permanent deal in danger.
The full-back got off to a good start at his loan club but since the last international break, where he returned injured, has not played or been called up. That’s already cost him a place in Argentina’s squad for this international break.
It is current known if his ‘ostracism’ is due to injury or a technical decision by Steve Cooper, but the fact is it could stop him staying at Nottingham Forest permanently.
That’s because for the clause to be activated and become mandatory he has to play in at least 50% of their games, something Forest appear to be working to avoid.
That may not the case and he may be back in the team before long but for now, he’s out and Sevilla are growing increasingly concerned.
