Kai Havertz’s transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal is a done deal, according to reports from Germany.

Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg claims there’s a ‘total agreement’ for the move, and the announcement should take place ‘probably this week’.

Arsenal are reportedly set to pay Chelsea €75m for the striker, with bonuses included.

Havertz is now expected to take the ‘last parts’ of his medical with the Gunners this week, and will then sign a contract that commits him to the club until 2028.

Plettenberg also points out that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was the ‘main driver’ who pushed for this signing.

Following the departure of Karim Benzema from Real Madrid, there had been serious reports claiming Havertz could be heading to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, with both the German and Spanish media believing in that possibility.

All of a sudden, however, Arsenal showed up and quickly wrapped up a deal, making a big move to keep him in London.

Havertz had joined Chelsea on a €80m move from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020. He leaves the club with 32 goals and 15 assists in 139 appearances.
