We nearly got to the end of a week without Jorginho’s agent speaking to the Italian media, but that wasn’t achieved.
The representative of the Chelsea player has been interviewed by 1 Station Radio, and talked about the midfielder’s potential contract renewal with the Blues.
João Santos once again claimed that the 30-year-old’s wish is to stay at Stamford Bridge, even though the renewal may not happen so soon.
“He still has one year on his contract with the Blues, the priority is renewal. At the moment, however, Chelsea cannot operate on the market for issues arising from the Abramovich sale, so we will meet with the club to discuss it,” said Santos (via Calcio Mercato).
The representative also spoke about alleged interest from Juventus, and this time, he claimed there’s been no contact from the Old Lady for the signing.
“The Juventus officials didn’t call me, surely because they know that at Chelsea at the moment nothing can be done without a license for the transfer market. Obviously, a profile like Jorge’s would serve many teams, even in Italy. I repeat, we will see the Chelsea situation first, because his priority is the renewal with the Londoners. In any case, I repeat, to date no one has come from Italy to ask me.”
Juventus’ pursuit for Jorginho had been highlighted by the Italian media this week, with newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport featuring a big piece about it.
There it was said the contacts with the midfielder’s entourage had been ongoing for months, and as Juventus have had an official in London this week, the pursuit for the Chelsea player was getting stronger.
His agent, however, dismisses it all.
