Liverpool summer signing Wataru Endo has admitted it has been a “pretty eventful” start to life at the club following his move from Stuttgart in the summer.

The midfielder has been speaking to Kicker during a return to his former club following international duty with his country in Germany.

The newspaper explains that Endo ‘paid another visit’ to Stuttgart on Wednesday and spoke about his ‘turbulent start’ in Liverpool.

He joined the Reds in the summer transfer window in a €20m deal as Liverpool looked to rebuild their midfield following the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

It brought an end to a happy three year spell at Stuttgart, where he had established himself as a firm fan favourite since arriving from Sint Truiden in 2020.

The move to Anfield was done in such quick fashion that he was unable to say goodbye properly and he took the opportunity to return this week to say goodbye and meet fans, who had held up banners wishing him well and praising him in their opening game of the season.

That did not mean the subject of Liverpool was ignored, though, and Kicker quote the midfielder as admitting that life in England has been “pretty eventful” so far and “a bit hard” for him.

That’s because he and Liverpool have already seen two red cards in their first four games, with Alexis MacAllister and Virgil van Dijk both seeing red cards in different games.

With 10 points from 12, though, Endo was happy to report on “three games and three wins”, something which appears to have made that tough start all the more worthwhile.
