Lisbon side Benfica have rejected a double offer from Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to the Portuguese press today.
Newspaper O Jogo says the Wolves are interested in signing defender Ruben Dias and midfielder Gedson Fernandes.
The outlet doesn’t say how much the Molineux side were offering for the defender, but the bid for the midfielder was €40m, that’s €5m more than was claimed in Portugal on Saturday.
Since Benfica are not in huge need of money after making €200m with sales this summer, they’re not negotiating for any of these players.
Ruben Dias is considered to be one of the crucial players for the team, and that’s why the Eagles are currently in talks to raise his release clause from €66m to at least €88m.
Meanwhile, Gedson is seen as one of the club’s best prospects, and that’s the reason why he’s very well protected by a release clause of €120m.
O Jogo apparently can’t say if Nuno Espírito Santo’s side will continue chasing either of the two players.
