Tobias Figueiredo has been a big hit since arriving at Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.
Leeds United had been the Championship club most linked with the defender over a period of weeks, but according to the Portuguese media the club couldn’t agree a deal with Sporting.
Nottingham Forest then moved ahead of their Championship rivals and agreed to loan Figueiredo for a €200k fee with a transfer becoming permanent as long as he played 11 games.
That figure has now been reached and Record say the transfer is guaranteed and €2.3m due to Sporting. The Lisbon club are also due 20% of any future transfer fee, according to Record, not wanting to give up the player’s future completely to Nottingham Forest.
For Leeds United it’s an intriguing situation. Given how strongly Figueiredo was linked with a move to Elland Road, it’s perhaps a disappointment for the club they didn’t go through with it.
Especially given Andrea Radrizzani’s comments since about Wolves taking loan players from big clubs. This one was there for Leeds, and instead they left it to Nottingham Forest.
