Wolves weren’t really keen on disclosing the figures of Roderick Miranda’s transfer, but as usual, the Portuguese press have come up with the details a day later.
Record has an update on the move on Wednesday, with the Portuguese newspaper saying the Championship side have paid €3m for the transfer. Miranda’s club Rio Ave are getting €1.5m of this amount, and Benfica, who he belonged to until 2013, will get the other half.
That’s quite a normal situation in Portugal.
It’s claimed that Wolves’ interest in Miranda became concrete a couple of weeks ago, mainly because of the club’s strong relationship with agent Jorge Mendes.
The 26-year-old, who claimed it was a dream to play in England, has already worked under Nuno Espírito Santo for one season at Rio Ave, before the manager moved to Valencia.
Miranda signed a four-year deal with Wolves, and is the club’s second signing for the next season, after the move of Ryan Bennett from Norwich City.
