It’s now time for the Portuguese media to report that Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Porto fullback Tomas Esteves.
It was the English press who started the rumours on Monday, and on Tuesday morning the Portuguese newspapers simply covered the claims.
But now CMTV (via Record) are confirming Wolves’ chase for the 18-year-old.
It’s claimed that the teenager is on the ‘radar’ of Nuno Espírito Santo’s side, and could be the third player to leave Porto for the Molineux club this summer.
Wolves announced the signing of Fábio Silva at the weekend, and according to the Portuguese press, they’ve closed a deal for Vítor Ferreira as well.
Just like the two of them, Tomás Esteves is a Jorge Mendes client.
The right-back has only two appearances for Porto’s first team, so whilst he’s highly rated there’s not been a lot for interested clubs to see. Maybe he caught Wolves’ attention by playing for the youth levels, or this would be another Mendes recommendation.
