Being a young and wealthy footballer brings many advantages, but also pitfalls.
Things which wouldn’t become public knowledge have a habit of doing so, and on Tuesday El Mundo report a story about Munir’s 23rd birthday party.
The event was at a flash nightclub in Madrid, according to the report. The Barcelona player and around 30 others were celebrating the occasion.
El Mundo say they were all at Tiffany’s nightclub on Avenida Doctor Arce in Chamartin. The party ‘ended badly’ when the bill arrived.
It’s explained that after more than seven hours of partying with friends and family, which included a meals, drinks and hookah pipes, Munir was shocked to see the bill was more than double what he’d expected.
As a ‘verbal fight’ broke out over the €16k amount, the nightclub called the Policía Nacional. The stance of Tiffany’s was that the party had consumed far more than had been agreed in catering, and the bill reflected that.
After the police aided a meditation on the premises, Munir agreed to pay the bill, which had been lowered by €1k to €15k.
El Mundo state: ‘Police sources, however, said that he paid the amount reluctantly and under the threat that if he did not he could be denounced for fraud and even arrested, with the problems that this would entail for a soccer player.’
