Yoshinori Muto wants to move to the Premier League this summer, report Germany’s Kicker.
The FSV Mainz player is attracted by the bright lights, and probably big salaries paid, in England’s top division, and is keen on a transfer.
Like it is for many others, playing in the Premier League is described as a dream for the 25 year old striker, and it’s one which he’s working to make a reality.
Rafael Benitez’s club are said to have watched Muto in action for Mainz, but it’s a long journey from there to actually signing the player.
An out and out striker, Muto has scored 9 goals so far this season, which doesn’t exactly scream out that he’d be able to make a big impact at Newcastle United, although his goal to move to England is ‘clearly defined’.
Any move would be relatively cheap, with Mainz paying less than €3m for the player, and being able to make a profit quite easily. Muto has a contract until 2019 with the German club, but Mainz have an option to extend that by a further year.
