Benfica want to swap Talisca, and some cash, for Cenk Tosun do they?

Well, yes, according to a whole raft of English takes on a report which is claimed to be from A Bola.

The claims sound strange to start with, for several reasons. Benfica wouldn’t go anywhere near Tosun’s current Everton wages, and almost certainly wouldn’t come up with transfer conditions to please the Premier League club.

A Bola have no real blame in all of this as they cited Turkey’s Fotomac, and they have no blame either, as they make the situation quite clear.

What the Turkish report actually said is that there were talks between Benfica and Besiktas, before Tosun made his move to Everton.

That would have seen Talisca, currently on loan from Benfica to Besiktas, complete a permanent move, and Tosun, plus around €8-12m, go to Lisbon.

As Fotomac make clear, the deal didn’t happen, and Tosun then joined Everton.

How this all ends up as Benfica wanting to sign Tosun from Everton, we have absolutely no idea.
