Newcastle United may no longer be last place in the Premier League, but they’re very much in a relegation battle and Eddie Howe faces a crucial few months at the club.
The Magpies will try to strengthen their squad in January, yet it will be hard to attract top quality players, given they won’t want to face playing in the Championship next season.
Therefore, any available and willing star will be linked with the club, however, that doesn’t mean they’ll all be wanted.
Spain’s Super Deporte reports that Newcastle United have been considering taking Isco from Real Madrid, given the player’s lack of minutes under Carlo Ancelotti, that his contract expires at the end of the season, and that Los Blancos are willing to part ways.
Despite looking at the situation, it’s explained Newcastle could quickly ditch the idea, because Isco’s reputation is taking a battering.
Super Deporte explain: ‘Poor performance and terrible behaviour that outrages Los Blancos’ squad, could end up reversing the intentions of the new rich of the Premier League.’
Isco has been sulking his way through the season, with reports talking about his poor attitude whilst sitting on the bench during matches, and also his poor approach in training.
Therefore, even if there’s a chance Isco’s ego could see him attracted to a mega-wage at Newcastle, it would appear it won’t be offered.
