Over the past few months, both Manchester City and Chelsea have been linked with AS Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar.
The Serbian has become a pillar for the Italian side this season and was key for them in their 1-1 draw against Lazio at the weekend.
His impressive performances have brought his contract situation to the fore and Roma are facing some struggles in their attempts to extend the goalkeeper’s stay.
La Repubblica today report this stalemate between the Giallorossi and Svilar’s entourage can hand Manchester City and Chelsea a definite chance of signing the 25-year-old.
As things stand, there is a gap of €2m between what the player’s agents want and what Roma are offering. Those around the goalkeeper believe that his current wage of €1m per season reflects his previous status as a back-up goalkeeper and they now want a salary of €4m.
AS Roma are offering €2m.
The report states that Roma will have to hurry to keep Svilar because there is also interest from Bayern Munich.
The ex-Benfica player is happy to take his time and that is why the entire situation seems to be dictated by his entourage.
It all looks like an attempt to use the names of Manchester City and Chelsea to make sure that Roma meet the asking price.
