Even after the transfer window in England closed, Manchester United’s Paul Pogba continued to be linked with Barcelona.

On August 29th, Sport reported the France international was unhappy after failing to get a move away from Old Trafford and is planning to join the La Liga winners next year.

There were several reports suggesting the midfielder does not share a good relationship with Jose Mourinho and his agent is trying to find a move away from the English club.

Jordi Mestre, the Catalan club’s vice-president spoke to Mundo Deportivo, and was asked if Ernesto Valverde’s side have still maintained their interest in the World Cup winner.

He said, “We do not talk about players that are not at our club. What I read is that Pogba is unhappy at Manchester United and his agent, Mino Raiola, has been more vehement in efforts to sell him.”

“But I have not read that he says he wants to sign for the club. Yes, he is a player of unquestionable quality in the eyes of all the world.”

Another report in Mundo Deportivo also claims the Spanish outfit likes the idea of bringing Pogba to the Camp Nou, but may not choose to sign the Red Devils player because of the cost involved in the transfer, which also includes Raiola’s fee.
