Over the past few days, reports coming out of Spain have talked about interest from Southampton in signing Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
Mundo Deportivo now claims the 20-year-old has offers from the Saints, along with Watford, AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen and AS Monaco.
With the likes of Southampton and the Hornets joining three other clubs in chasing the Frenchman, the report doesn’t specify which club is leading the race to sign him.
That’s because the centre-back has not made a decision on his future and wants to know first-hand the intentions of the La Liga winners before deciding his next destination.
Barca and Todibo’s agent have scheduled a meeting for the second week of January, but it can be postponed for few more days, taking into consideration that Ernesto Valverde’s side will take on Atlético Madrid in the Super Cup, in Saudi Arabia.
This fixture will have an opportunity for both Barcelona and player to weigh-up the pros and cons of each offer, including those from Southampton and Watford.
Mundo adds Eric Abidal’s idea is to allow Todibo go to a club on a dry loan, where he can feature regularly and showcase his abilities, so that Barca can evaluate whether to include him in their plans for next season or offload him after this campaign.
