Jean-Clair Todibo has been linked with West Ham United in recent days, with there being claims of the Hammers making an offer to Nice.

Those claims are now covered by Calciomercato, who insist the defender isn’t so tempted by a move to the Hammers and would instead prefer a switch to Juventus. Todibo is said to have told the Turin club’s sporting director that he wants to move there.

That’s a stance the Italian media often have, so it would come as no surprise. According to the report, West Ham must now ‘deal with the will of the boy’, which appears to mean they should accept defeat.

However, it doesn’t appear to be quite that simple.

Nice are said to want €35m, and that’s a figure West Ham have apparently come close to. Meanwhile, Juventus don’t want to pay more than €20m, and even then it may on loan with an obligation clause.

The Serie A club would be willing to potentially include a player in the transfer.

Nice surely won’t accept Juventus’ terms unless any player offered is of a good level and not a cast off. Therefore, West Ham may still be in this race.
