Burnley’s Darko Churlinov could be set for ‘imminent’ disappointment at his new club Jagiellonia, with a new injury set to potentially ruin his loan spell.
That’s according to Der Westen, who report the forward may be set for disappointment after picking up an injury during the international break.
They report that Churlinov could be set to receive ‘bitter news’ in the coming days after complaining of ‘severe pain in his thigh area’ during the international break with North Macedonia.
He was substituted four minutes into a clash with Armenia and according to an initial diagnosis, he has probably suffered a serious muscle injury.
If that is the case it means the ‘next disaster looms’ for the player, who has been dogged by injuries in recent years.
He could be set for an extended spell on the sidelines, continuing the bad luck he’s been suffered since joining Burnley for €3.5m in August 2022.
He spent over 200 days out of action at Burnley with an unknown injury and then blood poisoning, which saw him miss 24 games in total for the Clarets.
Tests in Poland will determine how long he’s out for now, and he’ll be hoping it’s nothing serious and another ‘extremely bitter setback’ is not on the cards.
