Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly asked the club to bring Joel Pereira back from his loan spell at Belenenses. The information was published by O Jogo today and confirmed by Sport Witness’ sources.
The Portuguese side have already received an official document asking for the loan to be cut short, and the goalkeeper should be returning to England in a few days.
Mourinho considers that Pereira has got enough experience from his loans and now it’s time for him to be the club’s third goalkeeper. Sam Johnstone, who currently owns the position, should be leaving this month on a loan deal, as confirmed by the manager.
Pereira made 10 appearances for Belenenses this season, having conceded only nine goals. His good form has even attracted the interest from Benfica, but as said by Sport Witness last week, the player has no intention of making such a move.
Having arrived from Xamax in 2012, Joel Pereira has a contract with Manchester United until 2020.
