Earlier this month, we covered a story from Record which detailed the race for Benfica wonderkid Ronaldo Camará.
The newspaper said Barcelona and Manchester United were the most ‘intense’ clubs following the player and sending officials to compile scouting reports, although Chelsea and Manchester City were also described interested in the 15-year-old.
Now Record comes up with a new story today, saying Camará is set to ‘visit’ José Mourinho soon.
In the text they say his father has already been to Barcelona, and is now preparing to get to know Manchester United’s facilities with what would be a trip to the Carrington training centre.
To be clear, the headline says the player is visiting and the text says his father is, so perhaps it’s both.
Camará turns 16 years of age in January, and apparently won’t sign his first professional contract with Benfica. That means he’s leaving the club for free.
Record doesn’t have any details of which club Camará would prefer.
Maybe a Portuguese manager and staff could attract him to Manchester United, but that’s just us wondering about the possibilities here.
Also, his father’s trips to England could have other stops as well, although that’s not elaborated on.
