Bein Sports Turkey Reporter Gurler Akgun reports Besiktas haven’t received any official offers for Wolverhampton Wanderers target Pepe, but the Turkish club will consider selling him for the right price.
In the past week the Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move to Wolves as the Premier League newcomers continue to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
Akgun said on Pepe’s future: “No official offers have come to Besiktas for Pepe right now. But that doesn’t mean he’ll stay at the club. Our sources at the club state that if the good offer arrives to the club for Pepe, then they’ll consider it.”
Yesterday we covered claims from NtvSpor that Pepe has asked the leave the club to join Wolves, but these claims have been denied by Besiktas.
It’s been claimed Wolves are looking to offer €7m for the former Real Madrid defender.
Besiktas could seriously consider his departure because the player is currently earning €5m a season with the Istanbul club, a figure which is likely after tax.
However, with Dusko Tosic and Matej Mitrovic no longer at the club, and Domagoj Vida linked with a move to the Premier League, Besiktas manager Senol Gunes would want a replacement.
Pepe is contracted to Besiktas for another 12 months.
