Saturday saw claims that Allan to Everton has been agreed for €25m plus €5m in bonus payments, with personal terms also agreed, and that the midfielder was set to travel to Liverpool for a medical.
That was then dismissed by Italian journalist Raffaele Auriemma, who said: “I read that it’s all done between Napoli and Everton for Allan who today will be in Liverpool for medical examinations. Strange: this afternoon the Brazilian will be normally in Castel di Sangro to resume training.”
The player’s agent was then quoted by CalcioNapoli as saying: “We are still in Pozzuoli and I don’t know why this news of medical visits in England spread. Everton? Of course we are at a good point, but there’s not even an agreement with the player yet.”
They put the transfer fee at €24m plus a further €4m in bonus payments, and say the player will receive a four year contract worth €6m a season.
There’s no talk of him flying out imminently for the medical checks, and if his agent was being honest, perhaps Gazzetta are getting a little ahead of themselves on the personal terms claim.
Napoli want the sale to happen as quickly as possible, so they can begin easing the pressure on their accounts after big transfer spending in recent windows.
