Nahitan Nández has emerged as a transfer target for Leeds United this summer and the Cagliari player’s chances of ending up at Elland Road improved after his agent opened the door to make a switch to England.
Two days ago, we relayed news from Italy that Leeds chief Andrea Radrizzani’s good ties with Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini could help the Whites in signing the midfielder.
On July 1st, Calciomercato reported the Premier League side have a ‘super offer ready’ for the 25-year-old.
The reporting from Sardinia has made it sound like a move could be a matter of time, with the player said to be ‘one step away’ from Leeds.
Nández is currently on Uruguay duty at the ongoing Copa América, where they next face Colombia in a quarter-final clash this weekend.
“The rumours about Leeds? I heard, but honestly I don’t know anything yet and I have my head in the Copa América and in reaching the goal,” he said, as quoted by Centotrentuno.
The player arrived in Italy from Boca Juniors in 2019 and also discussed how his time spent with Cagliari has helped him develop his game.
“The Italian experience was very important for the tactical part, Italian football teaches you things that I did not know in other leagues, much of what I am putting on the pitch is thanks to what I have learned in Italy. I feel good physically, happy for myself, for the team,” Nández explained.
