Thiago Alcântara has entered into his final year of contract at Bayern Munich.

Earlier reports coming out of Germany stressed the midfielder has decided against signing an extension and has set his sights on moving to the Premier League in this window.

Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the 29-year-old, and it was even suggested the Reds are his ‘only choice’ for a summer transfer.

The Spain international refused to discuss his future after La Roja’s 1-1 draw against Germany on Thursday, after Liverpool were specifically mentioned to him. He further stressed“Bayern is my home and I’m happy to be there.”

Luis Enrique’s men take on Ukraine Sunday and the former Barcelona midfielder was speaking at the pre-match press conference, where he was specifically asked about the recent reports linking him to Jürgen Klopp’s side.

“I haven’t told anyone I’m leaving. Every year you put me at a different club. For me my future is tomorrow’s game and there’s no issue about this. I neither care nor am I interested,” Mundo Deportivo quoted Thiago as saying.

Bayern manager Hansi Flick and other club officials on numerous occasions have publicly discussed the possibility of losing Thiago this summer.

Meanwhile, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge spoke to the treble winner’s official website, and was asked if he’s worried about losing some of the club’s star players in this window.

Responding to that, he said: “As long as the relevant contract isn’t about to expire, we call the shots. And who would want to leave the reigning Champions League holders? FC Bayern is a very good club. Players all over the world know that.”
