One of the longest sagas of the summer was certainly that involving Nahitan Nandez, who was heavily linked with an exit from Cagliari for months.
First he was said to be in talks to join Leeds United, the midfielder was then reportedly close to moving to Inter Milan, then came Tottenham, but none of the clubs were able to reach an agreement for the transfer.
Now even though the transfer window was just closed, it shouldn’t take long until we see Nandez’s name in the rumour mill again.
Calcio Mercato writes that after being a ‘rumour protagonist’, the Uruguay international is ‘ready to return to the market’ in January.
The outlet recalls that both Leeds United and Inter Milan were strongly linked to the player in the summer, and now points out that there are ‘eyes from the Premier League’ for his signing once again.
Calcio Mercato doesn’t say how much Cagliari would demand to let him go in the middle of the season. For months, despite his €36m release clause, it was claimed the Serie A side could let him move for about €25m.
