Thomas Meunier is ‘very likely to pack his bags’ and leave Paris Saint Germain this summer, according to today’s issue of France Football.
The right-back hasn’t been in Thomas Tuchel’s plans at the club, and with a year left in his contract, he should be leaving.
France Football names two Premier League sides who could end up landing Meunier: Manchester United and Arsenal. For the Gunners, he’s ‘in their sights’.
Meunier has already been much used by Unai Emery during the manager’s time at PSG. Now the Spaniard would like him to compete with Hector Bellerin due to his injuries.
Arsenal’s chances would also be increased in case they beat Chelsea in the Europa League final, since that would mean qualification for the Champions League next season.
In Manchester United’s case, all France Football says is that Meunier would be a very affordable player for the Red Devils. He has a salary of €3m per season, and would cost a little less than €30m.
So even though France Football doesn’t make it clear who’s leading the race, the player seems to have more reasons to join the Gunners, depending on what happens on Wednesday.
