The early hours of Friday saw journalist Manuel Casaca, who works for Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, publish something of a bombshell article.
Casaca’s reported stated, with a great deal of confidence, that Luis Diaz looks like he’s on his way to Liverpool.
The FC Porto player has been the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur, with Spurs reportedly making an offer for the player earlier this week. At the time it was made clear the Colombian would prefer a move to Liverpool or Manchester United, over Antonio Conte’s side, and would be prepared to wait to get it.
Manchester United scouted a recent Porto match, which isn’t usual for them, and that saw English claims the Red Devils were also making efforts for the signing, however, that wasn’t backed up in Portugal.
Goncalo Lopes, another Portuguese journalist, now states ‘agreement is complete’ with the Reds for the transfer, with Liverpool’s offer of €45m, plus a further €15m in bonus payments, mentioned again.
Diaz has ‘reached an agreement’ with Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp’s side moved seriously when they heard of a new offer from Tottenham.
