Player ‘promised’ he can sign for his ‘great priority’ Man United, as long as good offer is made

Over the past week, Don Balon have had a whole raft of Gareth Bale claims.

Probably our favourite to come from the Spanish website’s imagination is that Real Madrid wanted to use the Welshman as part payment to get Mo Salah from Liverpool, that’s some dedication to nonsense.

However, the next chapter explained Bale didn’t fancy a move to Anfield, but would prefer his ‘great priority’ Manchester United.

Linked with a move to Old Trafford since he was at Southampton, Bale would have told Real Madrid president Florentino Perez that he’ll pick his own destination, not be forced on to others.

Just a couple of days later there’s another update, with it being claimed Perez has given in and now ‘promised’ Bale he can leave for where he wants as long as there’s a good offer.

Karim Benzema has apparently also been told he can leave the club, and this is where the most Don Balon bit comes… it’s claimed Real Madrid will be looking to get €200m out of the sales.

Good luck with that, surely even Ed Woodward wouldn’t go above €100m to get Bale to Manchester United.
