Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard has been ‘offered to’ Chelsea and Manchester United this summer.
That’s according to Sport 1, who say the German champions are yet to decide what to do about the Frenchman.
They explain that Pavard’s future is ‘open’ but Bayern are divided on whether a sale this summer would make sense.
Those in charge at Bayern do not know what to do should there be serious interest in the Frenchman, as opinions on the 26-year-old vary.
They would welcome a ‘handsome transfer fee’ if they can get one but would be happy for Pavard to stay if they cannot.
His advisor, Joseph Mohan is ‘sounding out the market’ and ‘increasingly looking around’ in England for suitors. This saw the defender ‘offered to Chelsea and Manchester United’ a few days ago.
Manchester United are not keen on him at this moment in time but the same cannot be said of Chelsea.
They’re on the hunt for defenders after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, with Kalidou Koulibaly the only arrival to fill the gap so far.
They’ve also missed out on the signing of Jules Koundé and so consider Pavard an ‘interesting option’. They are a long way from ‘concrete negotiations’ though.
Even if they make a move they need to convince Bayern, who are yet to decide whether to keep Pavard or cash in on him.
