In the past few days, there’s been a rumour in the English media claiming Ruben Vinagre could see his loan at Hull City terminated.
The reason would be the little playing time he’s been getting with the Tigers, especially because he’s been injured recently.
As Portuguese newspaper Record today shares a story on the Sporting player, they claim that Vinagre is actually staying at Hull City, and there’s a good reason for that.
According to the outlet, the fullback is now seriously injured, and that will lead him to stay at the Championship side for a longer period.
The newspaper writes that Vinagre had been receiving approaches, especially from Turkey, but this latest development to his situation will exclude any chances of a January transfer.
Vinagre was loaned by Sporting to Hull last summer, and has 11 appearances for the Tigers so far. He even had some minutes in his first months at the club, but since the end of November, he’s only made one appearance, as he was mostly unavailable because of injuries.
Now it seems he’s set to stay until the end of the season.
