FC Porto striker Moussa Marega now regrets trying to force his way out to West Ham United this summer, the Portuguese press says.
With the transfer collapsed, the player has been forced to train separatedly from the squad, and now struggles to get back into the team.
Newspaper Correio da Manhã reports that Marega should have a chance to train with his teammates again today, but only if he apologises to all of them first.
And to play again, the player will have to show he’s completely commited to the club. Even though the transfer window is still open, the local media doesn’t believe that clubs from countries that are not England will have the money to take him.
But other newspapers such as O Jogo believe that he’s not returning to training today, and should miss the weekend’s league match against Belenenses.
It seems that Marega trusted West Ham too much, while the club’s offer wasn’t even close to his release clause, at least according to the Porto president Pinto da Costa during the weekend.
