Last week, we’ve covered a couple of stories from Spain which showed that the local media isn’t really sure about Diogo Jota’s situation at Wolverhampton.
Two major outlets had a big disagreement regarding the player’s price in case Wolves activate his buingy option from Atletico Madrid, showing that at least one of them was terribly wrong.
Wolves’ wish to keep Jota has been previously reported by the Portuguese press, and that would make sense, since the player has been doing well with seven goals and three assists for the club so far.
But it seems he’s not entirely sure that he’s staying at the club after the spell. At least that’s what he told the Portuguese media during the international break.
Asked about the future, Jota said: “At this point all scenarios are possible. But I don’t know what’s going to happen,” (via O Jogo).
But the forward seems happy in the Championship. Regarding manager Nuno Espírito Santo, who had previously been his boss at Porto, he said: “It’s always good to know the manager who guides us, we understand the main ideas and the football that he wants to practice in England helps the Portuguese to play.”
Jota also revealed that his performances have been surprising him: “My experience in England is being positive. I am in a very difficult championship, I have not set any personal goals, but what I have done so far has been above expectations.”
