Christian Eriksen’s hat-trick against Ireland for the World Cup qualifiers seems to have reawoken some feelings in Barcelona.

The player’s fantastic performance has earned him a big story from Mundo Deportivo on Wednesday, where they recall the Catalan club’s ‘old dream’ to sign the Tottenham star.

Now the wish to have Eriksen at Barça may come from a long time ago, and have been very weak, but it’s claimed that the club have been making some recent moves regarding the player.

Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona director Robert Fernandez has been watching the midfielder in many games, including Tottenham’s Champions League match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, plus others in London.

Although most of the people thought Barça would be watching the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane, the outlet claims it was actually Eriksen who was been scouted.

But a good thing for Tottenham is that the signing isn’t considered very likely at the Catalan club. It’s actually even ‘prohibitive’, as explained by Mundo.

Recent quotes from Daniel Levy made it clear that Eriksen is not moving for a cheap price, and an attempt in the summer market has been enough to show Barcelona that.

Mundeo Deportivo says that when Barça failed to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool a couple of months ago, Eriksen was the next one on the list, but being aware of the conditions was enough for the club to give up on the transfer.

So although the local media keeps saying that Barça dreams of Eriksen and Eriksen dreams of Barça, it doesn’t necessarily mean that this move will become a reality. At least not while the player has a contract with Tottenham.
