Bertrand Traore to Aston Villa is a transfer in the process of being completed, with the Premier League club paying just under €20m.
FootMercato, who were the first to break the news of a Villa offer, reported earlier on Monday that Traore was set to sort out formalities on a work permit and could then be presented from Wednesday onwards.
They didn’t mention a medical for the forward, and now RMC say there’s a curious destination for the health checks. Instead of travelling to Birmingham and having a medical at Villa’s training base, Traore will instead be flying to Denmark.
The reason RMC give is that Villa’s sport director Johan Lange is Danish and currently in his home country. He’d rather oversee the transfer there than travel to England himself.
It’s a strange way to go about things, but if it works for Aston Villa and Bertrand Traore then all should be fine by midweek.
